Over the course of my career and while exploring my personal interests and hobbies, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies. Along the way, I’ve constantly taken notes, only to find myself rummaging through various places trying to remember where I saved them, or worse, Googling the exact same problems and solutions over and over again.
My goal for altbrain.net is to consolidate this scattered knowledge. Over time, I’ll be collecting, cleaning up, and publishing these notes here, adding extra context and color whenever it helps.
What I aim to accomplish:
- Shared Knowledge Base: A library of technical notes, write-ups, and lessons learned, for the IT community.
- Single Source of Truth: One central, organized repository to replace my scattered files and repetitive searches.
- Having Fun: If it’s not enjoyable, what’s the point. I genuinely like writing about what I’m thinking about, and this site serves as a creative outlet for that.
Whether you were directed here seeking something specific, or a fellow systems engineer or administrator wandering in from a search engine, I hope the content here saves you some time, spares you some grief, or proves to be mildly entertaining.
Beyond all things technical, I’ve got plenty of stories from my decades in IT, along with a few outside interests, so expect a bit of non-tech content sprinkled in along the way. I hope you find something useful, interesting, or uniquely helpful during your visit.
