Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies. Along the way, I’ve constantly taken notes, only to find myself rummaging through various places trying to remember where I saved them, or worse, Googling the exact same problems over and over again.
My goal for altbrain.net is to consolidate this scattered knowledge. Over time, I’ll be collecting, cleaning up, and publishing these notes here, adding extra context and color whenever it helps.
What I aim to accomplish:
- A Shared Knowledge Base: A library of technical notes, configurations, and hard-learned lessons, for the community and my peers.
- A “Single Source of Truth”: One central, organized repository to replace my scattered files and repetitive searches.
- Having Fun: If it’s not enjoyable, what’s the point? I genuinely like writing about what I’m thinking, and this site serves as a creative outlet for that.
Whether you’re a colleague looking for something specific or a fellow systems engineer or admin wandering in from a search engine, I hope the content saves you some time, spares you some grief, or you find it mildly entertaining. Maybe, you’ll find something useful and interesting too. I also have a few stories to tell and other interests, so perhaps I’ll sprinkle in some non-tech stuff as well.
